I was born and raised in West River, Maryland, with an incredible urge to draw. When I could hold a pencil, I drew everything I saw. I have owned horses and dogs all my life and they have been incredible inspiration for my art. I began instruction in art throughout school and started commissioning portraits at age 16. In first grade, I won a scholarship to study at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis and continue to study there. I've studied with area portrait artists Cedric and Joanette Egeli, and master impressionist John Ebersberger, an Artist in Resident at Maryland Hall. Graduating with a Graphic Design degree in 2000, I still prefer fine art as my career.

A lifelong love and experience with animals gives me a more intimate knowledge of my subjects. Drawing what I see, I then add my natural expertise to capture expression, color and light in my work. Although the equine is my focus and constant inspiration, my art is not limited to this subject matter. I excel in oils and graphite but also master pastel and acrylic mediums. I work from good quality photographs of the subject, taken from various angles. The more detailed the photo, the better the finished portrait will be.

At age 9, I was featured in the Youth section of the Capital Newspaper April 1983, as a natural talent for my age. 20 years later, Aug. 21, 2003 I was featured again in the Gazette Business section,in an article titled "Future Turns Out Picture Perfect".

My painting "King's Yearlings", was accepted and displayed in the International Museum of the Horse in Kentucky by the American Academy of Equine Art. Another painting "The Huntsman", was on display at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis.
